Percy Lake Ratepayers' Association

Executive Meeting - Sunday May 18th, 2008 10:00am

Location: Jim Richert’s place

Directors present: Jim Richerts, Susan Russel, Ken Loney, Gerry Roberts, Graham Warren, Gary Portway

1. AGM – will be held on Sunday, June 29 at FIRA Hall at 10:00 a.m.

S. Russel will collect dues from members as G. Warren will not be there.

Guests will be Murray Fearry, Dan Kay and possibly Paul Wilson.

Present officers will remain for at least one more year. K. Loney will introduce at motion at the AGM to allow for repeal of the current 2 year presidential term.

S. Russel and J. Richerts will be responsible for treats for the AGM.

2. Watershed Plan – submitted to Municipal Council last fall and accepted. It is now on file with the council ahead of the Development Plan. Next step will be presentation to the County.

3. Newsletter – is written and will be coming out soon. Members of the Board of Directors will be delivering copies to all residents on the lake.

4. The Coalition of the Trent Severn Waterway Plan was completed and presented in the new year to the Minister. The basic message of the report was that management of the waterway was not capable of meeting the future needs of residents. The connection between identifying what had to be done and actually carrying out services had broken down. G.Portway will obtain a short video presentation of the report to be shown at the AGM.

5. Incorporation of the PLRA – is presently being worked on by K.Loney. All the forms have been filled out. A one time fee of 200. is required .

6. High Speed Internet – remains a big interest to people on Percy Lake, especially as there will be high speed internet on Haliburton Lk. up to the FIRA Hall.

Included in the newsletter is a questionnaire about internet access to be filled out and returned before the AGM. At the AGM will be a petition directed to Jim Naubauer of Bell requesting high speed internet on our lake.

7. Plans for Development on Percy Lake - continue with the issue of roads. Will they be private/condo (maintained by individuals) or municipal? From the latest information, the roads will be private or condo roads.

Our "wish list" from the Watershed Plan was also discussed with M. Fearrey, P. Wilson and other members of the HLRA. The planners of development appear most eager to include the Lake Assoc. members in their planning and to try as best they can to include our wishes in their development.

The latest (January 2008) version of the developer's development is available.

8. Brian Edey – a cottager on PL appears most interested in joining the Directors – he will be invited by K.Loney to do so.
