PLRA Directors Meeting – August 03,2008
Directors present: Ken Loney, Graham Warren, Jim Shepherd, Brian Edey, Jack Russel (special guest), Susan Russel.
Watershed Plan – final acceptance by the county is being delayed by a special report expected soon from FOCA about lake plans.
Trent Severn Waterway Committee – encouraging provincial ministry to carry out recommendations made in the report.
Grief Bros. Development – continuing water assessment on lakes that are being developed.
Fishing Derby – no new entries yet.
Snow Plowing – a plan is being looked at by Harry Winder. A difficult topic in middle of summer.
Hi Speed Internet – special guest Jack Russel has been working with other members of PLRA and some from HLCA to encourage people to sign a petition to present to Jim Neubauer of Bell to show an interest in having hi-speed internet extended up to and including Percy Lake. Petition will be ready for Tuesday, August 5. Thanks to Jack and to Dave Taylor for working on this item.
PLRA Website is being moved from one provider to another that is cheaper.
Roads on Percy Lake are in terrible condition. K. Loney is asking us to consider writing a letter to council to bring the roads up to standard. Much discussion followed this proposal. K. Loney will talk with Haliburton Lake and see if they might be interested in co-signing a letter.
Issue of sheds near the shoreline and the new rules regarding these sheds that are included in the Watershed Plan was discussed. Because there may be some misunderstanding about these rules, it was considered important that all Percy Lake residents ought to know what the rules are and a suggestion was made that these rules be included in a newsletter to all residents.
Thanks to K. Loney for having us in his airy pagota – meeting adjourned around 11:00 a.m.
Next meeting on Thansgiving Weekend.
