PLRA Executive Meeting
May 23, 2010 Members present: Jack and Susan Russel, Brian Edy, Jim Richert, Gary Portway. Boat Launch – Discussion about need for new boat launch on far side of lake for the cottages being developed on Percy. Jack Russel will talk to Paul Wilson about this. Subdivision of Lots on Developed Property – A question was raised about this issue. Jack Russel will talk with Murray Fearrey and Dave Freeman (of Haliburton Lake) about this. Roads on Percy Lake leading to newly developed lots. A meeting will be held today with Paul Wilson and the owners of properties along the road leading to new developments. To be reported on at a later date. Gift from Royal Lepage - $200.00 was given to PLRA as a result of two properties sold by this real estate group on Percy. What shall we do with this money? Several options will be presented to the AGM in July: a gift to charity (Food for Kids, Environment Haliburton, Places for People), signs at the boat launch informing that no overnight parking, no camping, etc. New Sign has been finished and is ready to be placed at intersection of Johnson Bay and Percy Lake road. Will speak with Brian Nicholson about best spot for sign. Jim Richert and Jack Russel will be making a frame and two posts to put up sign. Need for new board members and welcome to new cottage owners on Percy. Jack will contact real estate people in Haliburton and give them his email when new people buy cottages on our lake. A package for new cottage owners will be developed with our newsletter and other important items – Jack Russel will look into this. Shirley Clancy will be invited to join the board by J. Richert. Bob Wong, Liz Meacock and Lou Kariakou will be invited by Jack Russel. What is the vision for Percy Lake in the future? This is question to bring up at AGM in July and invite people to email suggestions and ideas for future projects. A meeting place for PLRA on Sand Spit? Development of tables and other amenities on the Sand Spit? Other? Newsletters were handed out for distribution.
